In connection with the election of members to the Board of The Association of Chartered Professional Accountants of Newfoundland and Labrador (CPA Newfoundland & Labrador), a call is hereby made for nominations to fill vacancies on the Board to serve a three-year term commencing with the September 2021 Annual General Meeting. Under the Chartered Professional Accountants and Public Accountants Act, 2015, the Board is to consist of 16 board members. Twelve members will be elected from the general membership with an additional 4 public representatives to be appointed by the Minister of Digital Government & Service NL. For 2021-22, CPA Newfoundland & Labrador has 4 vacancies which must be filled through the election process.
Board members serve a three-year term and are eligible for re-election for no more than two additional terms. Terms are staggered such that one-third of the Board will be elected each year to provide greater continuity in any one year, while maintaining an annual election.
All members, except honorary members, who are in good standing and whose residence is in the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador are eligible for election to the Board.
Nominations must be signed by two members of the Association with the approval of the Nominee appended thereto and lodged with the Secretary-Treasurer at the Association office on or before August 31st, 2021 at 4:00 PM NDT. A brief biographical data sheet and a head and shoulders photo, in digital format, of the nominee should accompany nominations. All biographical data will be subject to review and may be abbreviated for use in conjunction with the ballot papers.
